"This office is home to some very kind employees and a very incompetent insurance agent. My partner and I moved in together and needed to get a renter's policy. The agent couldn't figure out how to do it and filed it incorrectly, so several corrections had to be made, including the mailing address. After a couple of months of having said policy a letter was forwarded to us (it had been mailed to a previous address for unknown reasons) stating that our policy had been cancelled because we failed to provide requested information. As no information had been requested, we were very surprised to receive said letter. I called the office the next week day and spoke with the agent. He was not sure why the policy had been cancelled and stated that he thinks it's because we aren't married. He then said that he can't have both of our names on the policy and would gladly write up two separate renter's insurance policies that would, naturally, be two separate costs. I declined and asked if we would be reimbursed, because we paid for the policy in full. The agent stated yes and said a check would be mailed. I asked if he could see whose name was on the check and what address it was being mailed to, since they mailed the letter to a wrong address. The agent was unable to give me that information. Fast forward a few weeks to today. The check came in, but it was mailed to the wrong address. It was mailed to my partner's parents house 2 hours away. My partner also had auto insurance through Alfa. He tried several times after we moved to get the address changed, but Alfa failed every time and continued to mail everything to his parent's address. We were able to get a new renter's policy, with both of our names on it, from State Farm with no problem. And it cost less than what Alfa charges."
