"My father always went to this shop before he left the Houghton lake area. This trip, I made it a point to go there. I was very impressed with the meat that I had bought. The top sirloin was very juicy and tasty. I usually stay away from that cut due to the lack of flavor. I was so glad I decided to give it a try. Their bulk sausage wasn't too lean or fatty and spiced excellently. I felt that their prices were very fair. A comment was made about the lack of friendly service. They must have had an off day. The lady that assisted me was very nice. We chatted like we were friends for over 20 mins. They have been in business for over 40 years so they must be doing things right."

"Looks like a nice place, but the owner has a very bad attitude. We tried to purchase lunch meat and wanted it sliced the way we prefer. The older lady didn't seem to have any experience with the slicing machine but tried. The owner stormed over to the slicer and angrily asked "what the hell are you doing with it" referring to the way we wanted the meat sliced. We were quite shocked at his response as he took over the slicing and again showing his anger threw the unpackaged meat on the counter. I would never step foot in this place again and would suggest finding somewhere else to do your shopping."
