"There is no place like the original Wintzells. Gulf sea food at its very BEST. Crab claw starter and a great shrimp and fish main dishes. Ate an early supper, and it was excellent. My wife and I always enjoy eating in this location. Our server Kasondra is OUTSTANDING. She gets 7 out of 5 stars from this reviewer. The manager stopped by our table, and that made an outstanding impression on both of us. Thank you to the staff for another great experience and meal."

"This is and will always be my favorite oyster bar. My favorite is the raw, but I've had them all. Took mom and my friend here for lunch, and we enjoyed it. We had raw and chargrilled oysters, fried green tomatoes, gumbo, and grilled salmon. Our server was AMAZING! If you ever visit, please ask for Kasondra. She will make your experience here worth it. She takes pride in her job and makes her guests happy. She's the reason I have a new level of respect for servers. She keeps a smile on her face always. I highly recommend this location. See you all next time."

"3.5/5 Arrived at 7 PM on a Sunday and had to wait about 30 minutes for two people. We ended up ordering the raw oysters, the gumbo, the Cajun seafood pasta, and the fish of the day. The gulf oysters were amazing and the best I'd had. Gumbo was amazing too. The Cajun seafood pasta was too rich and lacked complexity of flavor in my opinion. Hush puppies were great. The broccoli was severely over cooked and extremely mushy like watery mashed potatoes . Service was friendly and attentive The ambience inside maintains the 1930s character of the restaurant Overall, we would come back for the oysters and the gumbo"

"This is the perfect place to go for a true feeling of Mobile. The oysters are delicious as well as the other choices. It has a great atmosphere in the historic downtown area. The staff is very friendly and attentive, helping each other out. A great experience."

"Nice place in the city of Mobile. I liked the ambiance. Service was good. The server was a little unknowledgable with the beer menu, but we made it work. The food itself wasn't bad but it wasn't the best either. The boil is just a boil, no seasoning, and the collard greens were salty. The redfish and oysters were good. They close at 9pm and at 8.58 they turned the lights off and back on again to let us know to get out, rather than just telling us nicely since we were the only customers left at that point. It wasn't a bad experience but I'm not sure I'll be back."
