"They charge you a fortune. My simple return was over $400. Not only that but now my refund is being audited and I have to wait even longer. Yet every year prior I have done them myself for next to nothing and have never had any issues. Do your taxes yourself, these places are worthless."

"I would advise anyone to stay away from this location. Upon arrival for my appointment they told me that I had called and cancelled it after confirming my appointment less than 5 hours prior. I showed them my call log and asked which phone number cancelled my appointment and the lady gave me a phone number I have no association with and a wrong last name! Old lady at the desk was super rude and was absolutely no help and told us we would have to reschedule another day. I have gone to H&R block for years and have never had such a bad experience. The Allendale or Wyoming locations seem to have staff with more than 2 brain cells!"

"My husband and I typically use turbo tax but this was our first year married and wanted to have in person professional help for our first year filing jointly. Our tax “specialist” was very incompetent with typing in our information, we had to have her fix multiple things multiple times like our address phone number and names. That was frustrating, due to the lack of ability there, but it only went downhill from there. Our questions weren’t listened to and we had to ask multiple different times to get an answer. Now, later on, I’m finding out that she gave us poor information. Now I have to call the IRS and wait on hold to correct Nellys errors and misinformation. Perhaps we just had miscommunication due to her lack of English, but that isn’t an excuse in my opinion. We paid to have a professional service in something very important because we aren’t experts ourselves and now have a headache to deal with and still no help. I’m frustrated. Won’t go back to HR block. I’m sure plenty of others have good experiences here, this is just ours. Taxes are difficult and confusing enough without poor aid and advice."
