"Works but had many installation problems Failed mechanical permit, required a larger gas meter that was not available from Consumers Energy (7 month lead time) added $1800 to the total installation cost. 2 location moves, removed landscaping at each prep site. Found out from Township generator must be 3/4 of the way towards the back of the house. Also if on the side of the house adjacent to neighbors, a signed waiver from the neighbor is required. So we moved it to the rear of house. This should’ve been communicated up front. Surprise! during install day a small vent on the side of the house was determined to be air intake and generator exhaust had to be 10’ away from the house. Final location of generator is poor sticking out 10 feet from the house like a sore thumb, see photo. Is a safety issue and trip hazard for animals or kids running around the house and sharp unistrut edges. Lawn tractor could damage cable and piping. Requires guarding, or a section of fence. Further issues, The 220v well was unhooked but not reconnected although they said it would be. The electrician said he could hook it up on a side job and mentioned I needed a whole new panel for $2800 although there is a sub panel? Tried to make a follow up appointment, but he kept saying they weren’t available. Flaky Electrician moved breakers but did not re-label them. Did not tighten the 40 amp air conditioning breaker that was relocated and it when summer came around it was tripping. I was ready to buy a new air conditioner and found that the connections were not tightened (poor workmanship) The gas pipe and electrical above ground and generator location are incorrect, should be buried. The balance of the installation appears done well. Companies are not thinking through each installation, no upfront investigation, drawings or pertinent information on permit filing, no copies given or permit number available to consumer. Everyone in a hurry to get to the next job."

"Osburn does amazing work. I had a very complex job and I had my own Kohler 20K generator for them to install. They had to make a really long gas and electrical run as I wanted my generator on the opposite side of the house that the gas and electric service came in on. It was a big and expensive job but the crew was exceptional and the generator works great."
