The collection ranged from ancient artifacts to personal belongings of local pioneers, providing a comprehensive glimpse into the town's past. The passionate and knowledgeable staff eagerly shared stories and insights, enhancing the educational aspect of the visit. It was truly remarkable to witness how a small town could preserve and celebrate its history in such a captivating and immersive way. As I explored the museum, I felt a deep connection with the community and the generations that came before. The exhibits were not just a collection of artifacts; they painted a vivid picture of the struggles, triumphs, and everyday lives of the town's residents. The attention to detail was astounding, with recreated scenes and interactive displays that allowed visitors to engage with the history firsthand. From examining a miniature Strand movie theatre to reading about games played by early Indian tribes, every corner of the museum was brimming with fascinating discoveries. The museum also featured engaging multimedia presentations, including audio recordings and video documentaries, further enriching the storytelling experience. By the time I left, I had gained a newfound appreciation for Sturgis’ heritage and the remarkable individuals who had shaped it. The small town historical museum had truly succeeded in preserving the past and creating an immersive journey through time, leaving me with lasting memories and a deep sense of gratitude for the community's commitment to their history. My grandfather, who is a 1942 graduate of Sturgis High School especially appreciated the exhibit. I definitely would recommend visiting - there is something of interest here for everyone!"

"We love this little museum. It is an amazing collection of local history that we are lucky to have. The director is a real gem and really knows her stuff. You should certainly chat with her if You get a chance. The new building and gift shop are great. It has lovely little stocking stuffers for kids. We are excited to come back and see the model trains in full swing! I think it is also worth noting that they have really nice bathrooms. How many places can boast that? ;) it even has lovely grounds. A lot of love has gone into this place and it shows in every brick. Well done."

"Very cute little museum! They use fun, modern techniques and creatively use a small space to pack in a lot of interesting historical information and artifacts. Speaking as someone who's worked in archives and visited more than my fair share of museums, the production values were impressively high for such a tiny local museum, the docents were very well-informed and pleasant, and the whole experience was lovely. If you haven't been, go! Well worth it."
