"I originally met with Dana after being referred to her through family. My first meeting was a phone call to discuss my vision for my destination wedding on 3/6/2023. The meeting mainly consisted of discussing what I was looking for in regards to the location and other details like size, wedding package preferences, etc. after going over everything I received a contract that laid out the timeline of Dana’s services. I took a month to review the contract and align with my fiancé on if this was the route we wanted to go. I signed the contract and paid in full - $800 (which seemed odd to require payment in full in advance but I paid against my better judgment because Dana knows my family personally). After making the payment and signing the contract I contacted Dana again on 4/15 letting her know it was signed. I got my first red flag when she had to ask me what event I was talking about after I had given her my full name and my signed contract. Of course, I’m sure she is a very busy woman so I over looked it. She stated we would meet next week (which would have been 4/17-4/21) to recap what we discussed early March but I didn’t hear from her so I messaged her 4/25 asking if we were still meeting. I didn’t hear back from her until 5/1 when we had our recap meeting. From here, Dana’s contract gives a 6-8 week time for researching rates and putting together a presentation for me to select a location. I had not heard from Dana and followed up with her on 5/26 just asking how things were going. I received no response back. I followed up again on 6/4 and Dana replied that she was at a wedding conference getting 24/25 rates. That was good to hear so I gave her more time and followed up again on 6/22 after still not having anything from her. I once again didn’t receive a response. At this point I was livid and spoke to my family about the lack of communication and frustration that I had paid in full and was basically being ignored. I finally had received the presentation from her in 7/19 and at that point no longer wanted to use her services. Unfortunately, Dana had included a “bridezilla clause” that would come to make it very difficult to voice my frustrations with her without the fear of losing my money. Of course, with my wedding being very important and money not growing on trees, I didn’t still politely request Dana return some money as I no longer wanted to partner with her after weeks of unanswered texts. I was told that I could not get a refund of any kind because my $800 was spent on a website that I received weeks late and “payroll” spend finding rates for my resorts. I think $800 spent before I even selected a location as well is pretty steep of a “payroll”. Now I have no wedding planner (which is still better than one that takes $800, forgets who you are, and then ignores you for weeks), I’m down $800 and I am back to square one on my wedding planning. If you want a planner that takes your money and then doesn’t respond to multiple texts over a month span - Dana is your girl. I wish you all luck with the “happiest day of your life”."
