Whatabout Theatre

Whatabout Theatre is a non-profit theatre and arts organization located at 21800 Haggerty Road in Northville, Michigan. Our mission is to produce high-quality improvisational theatre performances, offer classes, workshops, and more. Founded by local community members, we are dedicated to fostering connections through improv and live theatre.

Our Board of Directors includes Michelle Weiss, Corene Ford, Elissa Zimmer, Karen Malinak, and Amy Phillips. We are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive community where everyone can feel a sense of belonging.

Our Revolving Stage program provides opportunities for directors to produce structured long-form improv shows. Our current production, Adventure's Call: An Improvised Hero's Journey, premiered in February 2024 and is sponsored by RIW Hobbies & Games.

We are currently accepting show submissions for new improv productions. Whether you have an idea for a horror movie, murder mystery, musical improv, or Shakespearean improv show, we want to hear from you. Submissions must be received by March 28, 2024, for consideration.

At Whatabout Theatre, we are building a community that values quality entertainment, education, and creativity. Our membership structure allows all community members to have a voice in organizational matters. Join us as a member or volunteer on a committee to help shape the future of Whatabout Theatre.

Registration is now open for our Improv Level 1 class, where you can learn the basics of improv, develop your skills, and connect with classmates. Our class sessions are held on Wednesday nights and Sunday afternoons.

We are proud to offer scholarships for our classes, providing access to those who may have difficulty paying the full fee. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to apply as soon as possible.
