Walgreens Pharmacy

"Yesterday my Dr called in 6 scripts, I called 3 times, each time I waited 15 min and then was disconnected, by the time I reached someone, I was very frustrated. The tech that answered the phone was rather rude. He told me that my scripts needed pre authorization from my insurance, which was untrue because I had them filled before. I called the insurance company, she told only two had been sent to them. I called again. I told tech told what scripts had been called in. I told that the two for my inhalers were not covered and I didn't need the Albuterol, because I still had enough for a couple of weeks. Today the pharmacy called me with 3 prescriptions that were ready, which did not include the Symbicort, when I called, she told me that they had been closed out. I told her that made no sense, as it was a new script. Then she told me the doctor called and canceled it. I called the doctor, they told me they didn't cancel it. Why is it every time I get a script, there is an issue? I worked in a pharmacy, for 11 years, first an independent, neighborhood pharmacy, that was very busy. This was back whenn we had one or two pharmacy techs and one pharmacist. We didn't close for lunch break we ate, when there was a lull. We were bought out by Arbor Drugs. Again we're a busy pharmacy, we didn't have automated phone system, we didn't tell a patient that came in for pain medication it will be two to three hours wait, we didn't tell a Mom with a sick baby, to come back in two to three hours for an antibiotic we would put those ahead, because most prescriptions were call ins either refill from a patient or from a doctor. Customer Service is a thing of the past. Most of these people are already not feeling well and are grouchy ."

"So I've been on both sides of needing meds and getting them on time. So can't really say bad or good just like everything and everywhere else There is always good and bad. Just witch way it goes can be decided by both sides. I've had really good experiences with this Walgreens until today. The one day I ran out my my med a day early before errfille. Ugh"
