About the Business

Legal Aid of Western Michigan

Legal Aid of Western Michigan is a nonprofit law firm located at 450 Morris Avenue in Muskegon, Michigan. As a team of dedicated lawyers, we provide free legal advice and representation in a wide range of areas, including consumer cases, family matters, housing problems, government benefits, and more. We strive to protect rights, challenge injustice, and fight poverty through our advocacy for individuals and families in need.

We rely on the support of volunteers and donors to help us meet the demand for civil legal services in West Michigan. Your contribution can make a difference in the lives of those who require legal assistance.

Join us at our next board meeting on April 17, 2024, at 6:30 pm at our Kalamazoo office. Together, we can work towards a more just and equitable society for all.

"Poor service! These people don't care for the disabled or people in need of help! I deal with stress-induced seizures and I'm getting ready to have a part of my brain surgery and once again these people don't want to help me! They did the same thing when I had to fight for my son and they wouldn't help"

"They were very very nice there. I met the office manager and Lee is the one who helped us. He said he can get us to someone that can do what we need to be done"

"Just applied and really haven't heard from them yet though they said the day we talked that I would hear from them that afternoon or next morning. Lucky my court date isn't soon, I think I'd be screwed. Not sure for review yet, we'll see."

"I called legal aid and it took a couple of days! but the minute Sabrina called me , I knew that I was in good hands . She's positive , and a real talker , I'll tell ya . I trusted her with what I thru at her and she didn't let me down . As far as I'm concerned , she's why I won my case . I would recommend their firm ."

"Very bad experience. Little to no communication prior to divorce trial. Despite me submitting supporting documents, nothing was provided for trial day. I got absolutely railroaded and was ordered to pay my abusive partner $10,000 for items that were returned. Save yourself the headache, find the $ and hire a lawyer."
