Community Choice Credit Union

"I decided to open an account at Community Choice Credit Union as they are one of the few banks that have fee free (up to $250 per month) for coin cashing. When I opened the account, I brought in some coins along with a cashier's check from my previous bank. I showed the representative a baggie of $1.00 coins, some original and some Susan B Anthony coins along with a jar of other coins. I asked the rep if the coin machine would accept the $1 coins and she said yes. After inserting the coins I was given a read out with the breakdown of what coins were put in the machine. I had about $30 in one dollar coins but the machine said I only had 6. I know I had 4 half dollar coins but the readout said 16. I took this receipt to the rep who said since she didn't count the dollar coins there was nothing she could do about it. I was later, a couple days later, contacted by a manager who said they found $12 extra dollars. I figure I lost out of about $10 so Iet it go. My father recently passed away and he had quite a few coins so to help my mom out, I said I would take it to Community Choice. I knew the total without a fee would be no more than $250 but any balance above $250 at 3% would be worth it. Shortly after inserting coins, the machine broke down and a rep had to come out, empty coins from the machine and reset it. A printout of the first amount had come out. This happened another time so when I finished I had 3 receipts totaling $486.56. I put that amount in my account and wrote a check to my mom for that amount. 22 days later I get a call from the branch manager stating that after a forensic audit they found the machine had given me $188 too much and took it out of my account. I am fairly certain that each time the rep had to reset the machine, it started back at zero but there is no way to prove it. How would the machine know it was the same customer, you don't put in an account number when starting. Since I have no way to prove it, I had to accept their explanation and move on. Then I got a charge of $12.56 for coin counting over $250 which does not calculate out to any number correlating with the deposit. I would highly recommend you NOT put your money in Community Choice Credit Union."
