"Unfulfilled Promise and Unfair Treatment Regarding Deposit Refund - My wife and I applied for a one bedroom! I am writing to express my dissatisfaction and frustration with the handling of my deposit refund by Auburn heights. Upon signing the application agreement, a $400 deposit was taken, with an understanding that it was non-refundable according to the application terms. However, a conversation with Sharese from your staff led me to believe that my deposit would indeed be refunded. Sharese explicitly assured me that the deposit refund was being processed, and I anticipated receiving it within a reasonable timeframe. Unfortunately, 30 days later, after not receiving the promised refund, I contacted your office, only to be informed that no such refund was being issued. This misleading information from Sharese not only caused undue inconvenience but also raised false expectations. I was deeply disappointed to learn that Sharese's misinformation would only result in coaching, without any accountability or liability for the miscommunication. I understand the terms outlined in the application regarding the deposit. However, the contradictory information provided by your staff member, Sharese, led me to expect a refund, creating a sense of trust that was ultimately violated. I urge Auburn heights to reconsider this matter and honor the commitment made to me by Sharese regarding the refund. Additionally, I hope for a fair resolution that acknowledges the confusion caused and ensures greater clarity and accountability within your team to avoid similar incidents in the future. Lastly, I’m going to give an honest review of the apartments. These are starter apartments for a first time student, younger individual etc. I would not deem this location as safe due to Kia vehicles being broken into. The neighborhood is decent, The apartments are really old and cheaply remodeled. The managment is a revolving door. First it was Cierra as a manager, then Sharese who wants to be a manager now the new manager who is unruly and hostile. (Per our conversation) FYI upon my wife and I applying they stated we refund your deposit if you let us know in advance. Liar! The apartments didn’t feel safe either to me, the doors seem like they can be easily kicked down. You can not fit a king bed in the bedroom and the bedroom square footage is around 200 square feet. Look at their BBB and yelp reviews."

"DO NOT LIVE HERE. This is the worst place I've ever lived and the worst management I've ever dealt with. I moved out in March and they are still claiming I owe them money from having to replace a carpet that apparently "was overwhelming of cat urine" even though I am literally ALLERGIC to cats and have never owned one in my life. They tried double charging me for a cleaning fee that I had already paid when I moved in and tried to say they never did even though I have the check receipt I wrote them. They overcharged me on my last month of rent and I never got that money back. Their lawn people tore up my patio lights that were like $40 that I got nothing for. Their carpet people left a rusty tack on the lawn that went straight through my toe and I had to get a tetanus shot for. Their maintenance people took 1.5 years to figure out why my laundry room wouldn't stop leaking and when they finally did, it took them a month to fix and left my front door wide open for god knows how long while I was in the bedroom with my dog, which is such a safety hazard. Frankly, this place is lucky I didn't sue them, and the fact that they are STILL claiming I owe them money is ATROCIOUS, do NOT give these people your money."

"Staff was excellent. Noise was never a bother and all appliances worked as they should. Nice place to live!"

"Maintenance group was great fast service excellent team. However there were to much break ins in vehicles. Both of my vehicles were broken into, office was advised and not once did they ever think to hire security overnight.After several complaints they sent a notice out that said to lock your doors HIRE SECURITY!!!!!!!!"

"To whom it may concern, First and foremost I had a perfect experience with my initial tour with Yvette of the Auburn Heights Apartments in Pontiac, MI. Immediately I applied to the property for a one bedroom unit. Now a year later I am still living on property very satisfied! This complex is the only gated community in the area, quiet, friendly with a pool/clubhouse on property. Maintenance requests was a positive experience throughout my 1 year experience! Every team member from the Property Manager (Patrick) to apartment to apartment grounds employee conduct there day to day operations with class, and amazing customer service. I can't thank this team enough for making my experience here as renter feel like home. ps .....Mojo the Yorkie says thank you for an amazing dogie renter experience!
