"I do NOT recommend this attorney! She will take your money and not be a voice. One judge in particular was the same judge on her own personal family case so she was scared to speak up. When it comes to court you need an attorney who’s going to speak up for you. They are essentially your voice to the judge. Errors in filings, paperwork being sent to the wrong county, etc. My friend had to do her own research to help undo the mess that Jody did. And then she was charged for the double work. "When looking for a divorce attorney I would imagine that most people want a lawyer that is compassionate, respectful, organized, and well-studied. Jody Jernigan has none of these traits. Since my very first meeting with Jody she acted like her time was more valuable than mine (even though I was paying her), frustrated that I didn’t understand the process of divorce, and regularly spoke down to me. Numerous times I discovered errors in filings that I had to spend my time trying to fix. Jody also sent paperwork to the wrong county which resulted in additional costs and delays. Despite asking multiple times for a statement to ensure I knew how much had been spent from my retainer, I was only ever told “you’re no where near exhausting your retainer,” only to be surprised one day with a $1,000+ bill. If you want an uncompassionate lawyer that you need to micro-manage step-by-step to ensure your case doesn’t get messed up, Jody is the lawyer for you!"
