Dr. Jermov: Cosmetic and Family Dentistry

"7/28/2023 Update: The crown referenced below (where I paid this office $245 to have it re-cemented after it fell out) just fell out again! Here is the review I posted previously: I was visiting from Florida almost a year and half ago (7/28/2020) when a crown unexpectedly popped off, so I called this office to have it cemented back in because Dr. Jermov is the regular dentist of who I was visiting . I was happy at how quickly they got me in for this emergency, and thought both the staff and dentist himself were very friendly, but was absolutely APPALLED when they charged me $245 (!!!) for this very brief procedure (I was in and out of there in less than a half hour because the crown was completely undamaged, so the process of re-adhering it back into place required no additional work). I do not have dental insurance, but had brought $100 with me expecting that to be enough, so I had to charge the remaining $145 balance. Obviously I should've asked in advance what the charge would be (I wouldn't have made the appointment had I known it would be so outrageous), but I honestly thought that they would be reasonable knowing that I was traveling, was in a bind, and was referred to them by one of their long-time clients. Instead, they took advantage of the fact that I was in a bind. I finally decided that I had to write this review because even a year and a half later, I am still stewing about how they took advantage of my emergency situation. I now live here in Howell and get angry every time I happen to drive by their office. The person who referred him to me was so embarrassed and disappointed in their treatment of me that he decided to sever his relationship with this office and find a new dentist."

"i got done what i needed to get done, but i’ve had panic attacks pretty much every time i go here and the dentist definitely didn’t help, cause he doesn’t know how to shut up. the other staff are nice though, nothing against them"

"Highly recommend this office. Angie the hygienist cleaned my teeth and they felt so great afterwords. They taught me simple care of my mouth that no one else took time to tell me about. They helped understand when I was in pain and swollen. They talked me through what to expect when my wisdom teeth needed to be extracted. They were also very informative when I got a cavity and needed a filling. They have a way of making you feel at home. They are always the dentist I recommend."

"Only use Dr Jermov if you are okay with your doctor doing the following: - Lying to you about which of your insurance's networks he is in, and then trying to obfuscate this fact when you point this out. He is Delta Dental Premier. He will tell you that he is Delta Dental PPO to get you in the chair. He is lying. - Speaking to you as though you are a child, regardless of your age. - Giving you his opinions on the middle east while stabbing your gumline. - Badmouthing other professionals when you switch to a better dentist. - Charging you $50 (!!) for a physical copy of your xrays. Do a casual search and you'll find that most dentists charge $20 for this service, with $40 being considered high. - Refusing to email a copy of your digital xrays to your new (professional) dentist. - Printing your digital xrays out unreadably dark (they're digital because they're made to be brightened on a computer...). Thankfully my new dentist said "you already got screwed once this week, I don't want you to get screwed twice" and gave me a new xray for free. - Don't think that because you called the day before they'll print the xrays out ahead of time. They'll wait until you get there and make you wait half an hour listening to them bad-mouth your new dentist while they do it. And, I reiterate, they will charge you $50 for this "service". - As another review mentions, they will treat their staff like idiots right in front of you. It scares you to think how they act when there's no customers in the building. Jermov is proud of saying that he's the only dentist at his business. Why would you have two different offices in two different cities for a single dentist? He's closed for half the week because he's at his other office. Look at his lobby and all of the art, expensive countertops, and so on and you'll understand what kind of money he's pulling in by doing this sort of skeevy behavior. I can only assume his standard clientelle are making enough money they don't notice him screwing them. And I guess they must not mind his angry poking while he rants about arabs, but personally I prefer my dentist talk about something happy while he's got sharp metal in my mouth. If you're looking for a new dentist... Keep looking. You're only wasting time and money if you try Jermov."

"Although Dr. Jermov may be "nice", his treatment of his staff makes visits very uncomfortable. He yells at his assistants in front of you. Going to the dentist is difficult enough, then to see how he yells at staff makes it more stressful. His staff was not helpful in telling you the correct breakdown of costs that may be involved with a procedure. Even after contact him/them about billing and the cost of a procedure, we never heard a response from them. You then get hit with a surprise bill, costing more than what you had expected. I for one don't like the fact that nitrous oxide isn't available if needed or wanted. I feel the quality to cost ratio was very low."
