"After years of looking for a storage bed that actually fully utilized the available space (Why would I want a bed with two small drawers at the foot? What's the point?), I found Anderson Ultimate Bed via an older article on Apartment Therapy. SO very glad I did. Customer Service: I’ve called the company three times and have spoken to a person each time. This is a small business so I also wouldn’t fault them for NOT picking up the phone all the time but hey, I called within their posted business hours and yeah, no complaints. The first time I called it was basically to talk out something that was specific to the “fun” of putting this together/getting this delivered to a Manhattan apartment. I think I just needed someone to talk it out with me and the man I spoke with was helpful and reassuring. Most recently I needed to get a copy of the assembly instructions and all it took was an email request- one was sent to me first thing Monday morning. Ordering experience: I first ordered the sample pack (which was impressive) so I could decide on finish and wood and was pleasantly surprised (ok, shocked/thrilled) that they also included an example of the drawer slides. They are powerful and smooth and strong. If I needed a push to commit to ordering, the slides did it. I realize how nerdy this makes me sound.  I didn’t mind paying for that sample especially as they send you SO MUCH and they reimburse you upon return. I purchased a queen sized standard platform bed (pine and plywood/ebony finish w/cedar inserts) with a cedar end drawer (the long skinny one down the middle which you shouldn’t question purchasing- utilize that space!). The communication regarding delivery was normal and delivery was fine – no problems. Putting it together: The packaging was impressive- they really have this bed packed down the nth degree. No waste. I’ve put together a lot of furniture and yes, this bed DID seem a little daunting at first. But it’s really not. It’s just repetitive and BIG. That being said, read the directions. Seriously, read them. It will help everyone/everything. Cons: I’m still baffled as to why the platform pieces don’t come painted but it’s an easy fix and definitely worth it as it will make your bed look a lot more polished. Also, the website is pretty old and not incredibly user friendly but it gets the job. However, I do see how it could turn potential buyers off. In closing, I bought my bed almost two years ago and have disassembled/reassembled it three times since. I still love it and have actually decided to add a gloss to the whole thing and attach some brass hardware to give it more of a campaign look. This is a great bed from a great company and just what I was looking for."

"We think the king size with 6 drawers has been a great bed frame. We have had it for 10+ years with no problems. We have moved twice and completely disassembled it, and re-assembled it. The bed is sturdy and a good height. The 6 drawers added a ton of storage which has been perfect. We use plastic bins to store winter clothes and blankets underneath, which has worked well. The bed shipped to us quickly. The company answered several questions when we were first assembling it, and was pleasant. If you need to add storage, then buy this American made bed."

"I'm so sorry to report that as excited as I was about the design and hopes for a great organized bed, I was just as disappointed in the end. I had a terrible experience with the owners after the new stain color they offered was sent to me with a sloppy job and it rubbed off on everything. I spent 6 hours of my time lining the drawers as I would not put anything in them they way they were. They only re-imbursed me my costs for the liners. They seem to feel because they had a free shipping and taxes promotion that I should eat the difference so they didn't incur loss. They seem like they are old school and very inflexible. I love the design of the bed, but hated working with the owners. The directions are not easy to understand and the tape they send you doesn't work no matter how much you clean off the wood. I can't in my heart recommend them unless you have carpenter or engineer skills and the willingness to fix anything thing that goes wrong. If you don't mind taking hours and hours to put it together and the possibility of being on your own if anything goes wrong, then I highly recommend the bed itself. Great storage solution."
