"Cascade PT is amazing! I have been a patient for years and no other PT compares to the relief I get here. I have walked in in tears and could barely stand but after just an hour felt extremely better! She has saved me from surgery and has taught me so much!"

"There are lots of generic Physical Therapy places in this state that will take your money and offer a cursory program of exercises and restorative movement. Cascade offers something far more valuable with results every bit as dramatic as any acute care facility. Their expertise is unsurpassed, with personal attention central to their body-mind approach to active health. The range of PT and OT cases they have seen is vast. Countless stories of documented improvement maintain the reputation of this healthcare facility that is a gem in the growing medical industry in West Michigan. From the Hall of Fame athlete to an aging client recovering from knee replacement, Cascade makes everything better. The one very negative review on this site is preposterous and full of irresponsible accusations. I can’t argue with that reviewers experience of pain but the idea that anyone on staff at CPT would intentionally inflict pain or injury is not credible. CPT’s explanations of therapy are always clear and realistic. In my case, their work on my shoulders, frozen by more than 4 decades of living in a wheelchair from a spinal cord injury, were literally life changing.Their flexibility and strength work has made me more Independant. Finally, the friendly atmosphere at CPT is the secret ingredient to their formula for keeping clients motivated, giving them the tools for pain avoidance when possible and pain tolerance when necessary.. Bindu (PT) and Sanjiv (OT) are the relentless leaders of a team that feels like family. Bindu and Sanjiv set a tone that projects excellence, hope, and hard work in a relaxed atmosphere where every member of the staff contributes. Visiting CPT is the high point of my week."

"This physical therapy practice is, hands down, the best in the West Michigan area. The owners are strongly committed to patient lifelong wellbeing, and specialize in treating patient pain and immobility that seems otherwise insurmountable to the patient. Bindu and Sanjeev have extensive physical therapy experience and their skills are exceptional. Bindu, Sanjeev and team will develop a customized treatment plan for the patient after the initial assessment. Patients feel valued and understood, as opposed to being told to do run-of-the-mill exercises and stretches. Many patients find that treatment at this practice changes their life for the better in a sustainable way. I highly recommend this practice!"

"I cannot recommend Cascade Physical Therapy enough! The owner is unbelievably knowledgeable and she was able to address my pain that so many other therapists and doctors weren’t able to figure out. If you’re looking for real, long-term recovery, this is the place to go!"

"I do not write reviews. However, I am compelled to write this review to save anyone with a disabling condition from ever wasting time or money at Cascade OT/PT—I would give a 0 star review if I could. I was referred here due to generalized muscle spasms of unknown origin. I was seen by one of the owners—the woman out of the husband and wife team—who had me do some typical initial PT evaluation movements. I am a person who knows my limits, and at this time knew what flared my pain. She had asked me to bend down and touch my toes, but I told her that any kind of stretching just worsened my pain. She said something about how stretching is integral to healing “myofascial pain.” I was newly 21 at the time and quite reserved, so I complied even though I knew it would flare my pain. When I bent over, she scolded me for “not bending correctly.” In fact, she scoffed at the odd way in which I bent. She then grabbed my hips and attempted to force me to bend “correctly.” In hind sight, the reason I could not bend “correctly” was due to the severity of my muscle spasms which were causing rigidity of the back, hip, and limb musculature needed to bend “normally.” I felt as if I had been utterly dismissed and violated. I have worked in healthcare myself since that visit and cannot fathom how she thought it was okay or ethical to do what she did. Unfortunately, that was the better of the two experiences I had with her. The next visit, she attempted myofascial release. First, she came into the “room” and told me she was going to do some stretching. I reminded her that I was not too keen on the idea as I felt it flared my pain. She ignored me, grabbed my right leg and attempted to stretch my hip. She did not stretch my hip gently, however, but with great force. It caused severe, excruciating pain. I begged her to stop and she begrudgingly did. Next, she attempted myofascial release telling me something along the lines of the fact that I was the most stiff patient she has ever had. As she attempted to “release” my scalenes and cervical paraspinals, I was in excruciating pain, but wasn’t saying anything because, at this point, I felt like maybe I was in the wrong. However, she began to get frustrated as my muscles stayed rigid and non-relaxing. She shook my neck and snapped that I needed to relax. I was really, really trying but I could not, nor could I ever, get my muscles to relax. Skip to a year later, and now I know why. I have a neurological disorder that causes generalized hypertonia and muscle spasms. Of course I could not voluntarily relax my muscles because I have a problem within my central nervous system which causes involuntary muscle contractions. No amount of “trying” would’ve made a difference in the state of my muscle tone. But unfortunately, I did not know this at the time and felt I was being a bad patient. She then got even more frustrated when I “wouldn’t relax” and snapped at me that I was fighting her and that she couldn’t help me if I wouldn’t try to relax. At this point, I started to cry. I was fighting back tears, but I was visibly crying. She threw her hands up in exasperation and said I needed to calm down and then I could leave and she would try again next week. She left the “room.”There was not an ounce of empathy in her voice. She looked at me with annoyance and disgust like I was a problem and wasting her time. I ran out of the clinic sobbing. I have been to countless medical professionals since my teens. I’ve seen a lot of bad medical providers, but never in my life have I experienced anyone as unethical, callous, and unfit to be near patients as the female owner of Cascade OT/PT. At best, this was a case of an unethical, insensitive physical therapist who has never dealt with a painful, disabling chronic medical disorder herself. At worst, this was a case of medical malpractice and a physical therapist that should never be allowed near patients again. Please, do with this information as you wish, but know that my experience was extraordinarily traumatizing and I would not wish it on even my worst enemy."
