"After my first visit with Ken, I was excited to have found a trustworthy Christian counselor- or so I thought. On that visit we did have a little difficulty with the internet connection, so we came up with an agreed upon plan for our second visit. Well, I certainly followed that plan but evidently he did not. So I emailed him to let him know of the difficulty. He didn’t respond so I repeated the email.. No response there either. So then I phoned him twice to say that I hoped he wasn’t too frustrated by the situation and would call to reschedule. A few days later, I even called again! I have never encountered such rude, hurtful behavior even by non-Christians. He was just plain old mean. Please learn from my experience and STAY AWAY! I even noticed his mean, manipulative response to another reviewer, in which he says he hopes she finds the help she needs. This is truly a wolf in sheep’s clothing. It says,”By their fruit you shall know them”. BE FORWARNED!"

"My husband and I have seen Ken on and off over the last couple years. He helped to change the trajectory of our marriage. His counseling is biblically sound and very practical. He shoots it to you straight and if your views aren’t lining up with what scripture teaches he will let you know. We have recommended him to several of our friends and we appreciate him so much!"

"Ken Smith does damage. He causes emotional and psychological harm to people and relationships. I personally experienced this and recently learned that a friend experienced this as well in relationship counseling. Please don’t trust this man or this counseling center. Go somewhere safe. There are lots of good counseling options in the Grand Rapids area. Why risk a place that may cause more harm than good? Update to review after Ken’s response: I actually did find someone to help me with my ‘difficulties’ and I’m doing really well. This is why I was able to recognize what a bad experience I had, and have the courage and vulnerability to post a review to warn others away from your practice. I felt this was especially important when I discovered you had harmed others besides me."

"Very practical counseling to help out in any situation. We've been there for counseling for marriage and more recently for parenting, and both have been very helpful. A listening ear with wise counsel. I highly recommend this counseling center to any one! Also, they do not require payment, but ask for donations when possible. They are willing to help you out."
