I believe that I am always respectful, caring and sensitive to people's struggles. I also know that I might not be the therapist for everyone in that I am very interactive, will ask clients to do the hard work of facing how their own behavior might contribute to their current situation (excluding traumatic experiences in which they might have been a victim or experienced at a young age). I believe in people's resiliency, empowerment and their strengths. Sometimes people are not ready for a change - they might blame others or continue to stay in a place to need or want sympathy. That is o.k. and perhaps my style might feel unsympathetic at the time - but sticking with therapy and working through painful thoughts and feelings, being vulnerable in the safe place of therapy... is part of the healing. "Michelle is the worst therapist I have ever had in my life, and I've had quite a handful of them. She treated me very poorly and was absurdly rude for no reason. She tries to say it's "tough love", but it's out right disrespectful. She tried to say all my physical ailments, which have been diagnosed by medical professionals, were all in my head. This was after I told her I was unable to see the D.O. she had recommended, because they didn't take my insurance and were located far away. I wouldn't trust her for a second. If you're interested in seeing her, don't. Go find someone else."
