A-Win-Sands Motel

"My hubby & I went to see our son & his family this past week and spent 8 nights in this little motel, Atlanta Michigan Is a very small close knit township, and A-Win-Sands fits, The couple that runs it are very nice and they try to accommodate guests, The motel is nothing fancy & older which is understandable for such a small town, Our room was nice & clean, they offer Wi-Fi, cable t.v and their small staff are all very nice. Rooms are very reasonably priced, No coffee pots in the rooms, but the owners make sure there is fresh coffee & donuts for their guests in the morning and they don't mind if you bring your own.(we have a little 5 cup pot for traveling & I prefer my usual brand of coffee anyway) For an extra $5 You can request mini fridge & small microwave for room. They have a very nice, clean indoor pool & hot tub area with changing rooms that have showers in them and also restrooms. They have an ice machine & vending machine as well. There are large garbage cans by every exit to empty your room trash in and you can exchange dirty towels & linens every evening at the front desk. Like I said they have a very small staff as the town itself is very small. We didn't mind as everyone was so kind & pleasant. There is a nice little grocery store right next door and two gas stations. The main street of the town is within walking distance with a couple of little restaurants, gift shop, coffee shop and a few other little shops. There's a lake and a good-sized playground as well off the main street with amazing scenery, We really enjoyed our stay at A-Win-Sands and will be staying there every year when we visit our family."

"You're here because you want a climate controlled place to sleep and bathe, or the indoor pool. Better than roughing it camping at the state park. Very useful in the winter with all riding trails. Adjust expectations accordingly, but I've yet to have a bad experience here."

"My husband and I booked only a day and a half in advance and they accommodated us! Also, the day of our trip, the boat break down and we were having bad luck so I called the hotel and asked if there was any way to check in early (I hated to ask that) but the gentleman on the phone said he would check! He called me back very shortly later and said they could do 3pm instead of 4pm. We were SO APPRECIATIVE of that, since we had been awake since before midnight the night before, so they have no idea how much that extra hour meant to us! I'm so thankful for their service. Everyone was so nice. Thank you!"

"I was there October 2022 and had a great stay. Not sure why there are so many negative reviews of this place....makes no sense. No, it's not a Best Western or anything like that but we're talking about Atlanta, MI people. My room was VERY clean as was the entire hotel. The pool and hot tub were also very clean and they are open all night which was a real bonus. Staff was helpful. I will absolutely stay there again."

"Absolutely horrible, if not the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. The old lady who ran the front counter was not only extremely rude, but also lied to my family of 10 when going to swim. Each of my family members had to spend $10 per person to swim and the old lady at the front desk told us that the pool closed at 10 pm. Not a big deal, however as we were leaving the pool at 9:55, another group walked in with kids younger than ours and the lady told them they closed at 11. Horrible communication and straight up rude. Due to the lack of shampoo the hotel supplied, I went up to the counter to where the old lady was and was greeted by a rude “What”. Not a “how may I help you” but a straight up “what”. That was before I even spoke. When I first entered the room, I found 2 dead beetles on my bed. If looking for a place to stay in the area, avoid this place at all costs, it is not worth it for the price. The old lady clearly hates her job and does not care for the people who are staying and does a very poor job cleaning the rooms. Hopefully this place gets some new management because it has potential, just the management is holding the place back."
