Reviews
"Eldridge's has helped improve my sons behavior. It has helped my oldest find a sport that he loves. My youngest has learned to count in Korean just by watching her brothers here. Personally, coming here has greatly improved my fitness and I've met some pretty cool people. All of the instructors are helpful and nice."
"My daughter hasn’t gone here for awhile, but this place is the first thing our daughter wanted to try at the time, so we signed her up after a few free initial lessons from an offer online. We got there and they gave us a date that we could use our free classes by, and even if we took her the max amount, we couldn’t even use all the “free classes”, so that felt odd from the start. I believe at the time online it said we had like a month to use the classes, but the date was only like two weeks out. Although it felt odd, my daughter wanted to continue, so my partner and I went into the office to sign her up. The sign up process consisted of the guy scrolling through an agreement on his computer from behind his desk with the screen only facing him and just asking us to sign something. Again, it was our first time signing our kid up for anything, so we weren’t as aware as we should’ve been… Usually when you sign your kid up for something, you personally read through the application and fine print yourself. They did not do that here. Instead, he had us unknowingly sign something that said even if she quit, we had to pay for like the rest of the year of her going, regardless, which seems CRAZY for a program for FIVE YEAR OLDS. We ended up needing to move farther away from the studio. We still tried to drive for awhile, but it was too much for her after our relocation, so we had to stop going. We weren’t told, of course, about allllll the remaining payments until we tried to leave. We’ve never had this issue with any other program since leaving, and I’ve realized since that this is not a normal way for any programs for children to operate. Also, for such young kids, testing was often, and expensive, especially for the Laporte area, and you had to do it to continue. Other schools offer the tests every couple months and let you vary on when you take them. Not this place. You pay for a mandatory $80 test to continue every few weeks, the kid has learned nothing new from before, and you just get yet another piece of tape on your belt. Other schools testing for kids my children’s age seems to be closer to $35-$50. My kid had fun for a little while, but half of the time, they were sitting, and even though my daughter went through a couple of tests, I never felt like she learned anything new. It was the same stuff over and over and over the whole time we were there. Was it cute and fun at first? Yes. But there’s a lot of other extracurricular programs around here that are more bang for your buck and a lot more transparent. Since trying taekwondo, my kids have also been in dance, gymnastics, swim, soccer, etc. and we’ve NEVER had the transparency issues that we experienced here. Please don’t go here without insisting on him printing out and letting you read what you’re signing up for. We ended up wasting hundreds on dollars on this program, unexpectedly. I was never sure I wanted to review, but the experience still leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and others should be aware."
"When I first started I thought about walking away many times, my form was horrible, I couldn't remember any of my forms or 1 steps and I was sloppy regardless of my past fight/training experiences. Been years before joining ATA before I did some (actual training) lol. Being almost crippled can do that. After watching 2 black belts spar i was hooked, and joined. Martial Arts has always been something important to me and means a lot to myself. Blood Sport, Kickboxer, Undisputed 2, among many others such as Michael Jai White, Steven Segal, Bruce Lee and many many others we're and are my inspiration. Along with some ATA teachers. Now I'm working towards my 3 belt rank and doing more than I thought I could do. Even got my fiance to join as well, I enjoy the leadership and legacy program. I can not wait to be able to be a trainer one day and have a black belt to call MINE! I crave more and more each time I train! I have never done tournaments before starting ATA but I'm enjoying the ones ive been to so far. The workouts are fun! Looking forward to what training we get in 2024. Thank you Mr Eldridge and to all trainers!"
"Mr. Eldridge will go down as one of the greatest! Very professional, willing to help in any way possible and answer any questions you may have. He understands how important this is for the kids and ensure their needs and safety are at the top! I will always recommend Eldridges!"
"My son had his first practice today. He is naturally a very shy and timid boy… but Mr. Eldridge somehow got him out of his shell (something I’ve never seen a stranger do for my son!) and made him feel welcome and excited to try something new. It was like magic! He was also so kind to my 1 year old daughter who explored and took a liking to him very quickly. My sons instructor (can’t recall her name, a young woman) was absolutely fantastic and was instilling great morals into the kids. I absolutely loved the experience we had today and can’t wait to continue to go back!"
