"I attended UW-Platteville from 2015 to 2019 and received a degree in engineering physics. I went on to pursue a graduate degree at Cornell University and have conducted research at multiple DOE national labs as I establish my career. The skills I developed at UWP have been foundational to my career, and I am grateful for the many excellent professors that provided the guidance and mentorship necessary for obtaining a great education. The direct professor-student teaching experience (i.e. no TAs) is an important feature of UWP that is difficult to find at many large universities. Students who are motivated to learn can gain enormous value from professor office hours in addition to career fairs, invited lectures, professional student societies, and more. UW-Platteville offers an excellent education while remaining affordable, and I am proud to be an alumnus of this university."

"Nice campus, good location and nice people but like all UW campuses they do whatever they can to get you to be there beyond 8 semesters. They don't accept AP classes from HS, counselors are misleading, can't get the classes you need and hidden costs."

"A smaller University that offers many Engineering program rarely found outside of larger more expensive schools. Like any university there are area that could be improved, particularly more opportunities for communication between students and professors, but overall I feel I'm receiving a good education."

"For a university full of engineers there not very many good professors. This is a very sub par school. It would seem that many of the faculty members were hired simply because they agreed to teach in a small town in order to get a job in the US, not based on their abilities. It is difficult to understand all but one of my professors' English. Many professors are not professional or helpful. I have attended other schools in the UW system, and this ranks at the bottom. If I were not so against living in Madison or Milwaukee I would not be here. Tuition is cheap, you get what you pay for. Unless you have no other options, do not come here for engineering."
