About the Business

Ivywood Classical Academy

Ivywood Classical Academy is a prestigious primary school located at 14356 Genoa Court in Plymouth, Michigan, United States. Our institution offers a K-9 education that is rooted in the virtues-based, content-rich, classical education tradition. We are proud to announce that we will be adding 10th Grade in the upcoming school year, further expanding our academic offerings.

At Ivywood, we prioritize the success and well-being of each individual student. Our dedicated teachers inspire a love for learning in every child, fostering a culture of mutual respect, trust, and heart. Through the use of the socratic teaching method, students of all ages actively engage in critical thinking and intellectual growth.

Our curriculum emphasizes education in the humanities, sciences, and arts, with the integration of the Latin language to promote depth in learning. We believe in educating the whole child, recognizing that children are more than just their test scores. In addition to rigorous academics, students at Ivywood have the opportunity to explore creative outlets in art and music, fostering well-rounded individuals.

Parents are actively engaged in their child's education, providing a positive learning experience for each student. Our school community is inviting, welcoming, and joyous, making Ivywood a place where students thrive and families feel like they are part of a larger family.

We invite you to join us at our board meetings, held on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at Ivywood Classical Academy. Choose Ivywood for a classical education that will develop your child into a thoughtful, caring, educated, and freethinking young adult.

"This school needs to be investigated. Their cruel and harsh punishments for KINDERGARTNERS is completely abusive and damaging to these young children. The way they handle things is unbelievable. PARENTS… investigate first, watch for signs!!! This school needs to be reported!!! Shame shame on the staff here. Disgusting!"

"This school has a dark, elitist underbelly if you’re not one of the “special families” or if your child requires extra work or has an IEP. They WILL make your child’s life miserable and cover their own ineptitude with gaslighting and lies. They won’t take the time to talk to a “problem child.” They will just punish with detentions and suspensions in an attempt to get you to take them out of the school. But if your child fits into their perfect box, you don’t complain about anything, and you can afford the outrageously expensive uniform, then you’ll probably love it here."

"Great school, Singapore math, Latin, Culture and Community. Yes, less computer time less than in other schools ✅, less recess but more time to do homework and catch up on projects, numerous after school activities, strict discipline ✅ hense less problems, yes some kids might be complaining and yes it is nothin like public school, thank God!"

"Grateful for this school and it’s staff. We left a local public school and will never go back. The teachers are wonderful and challenge each individual. Seriously blessed to have this place in our backyard. Go Eagles!"

"Absolutely top notch classical education. Coming from a local public school, my children have grown leaps and bounds since beginning the school year here. Great teachers and staff who genuinely care about your child and their education. A challenging yet engaging curriculum that inspires wonder."
