"The National Coney Island on 121/2 Van Dyke is a nice place to eat. It has good food and some of the service is good too. The place isn't full all the time, so don't know why it took so long to get our food. The waitress was nice and plenty, but there was 1 waitress that was rude to us when we asked to warm up our apple pies. She stated that she warmed them up, but were cold, when asked to warm them up a little more her body attitude wasn't good and she had personally that she didn't want to be there? I like here and other restaurants we have been too."
"Brought my kids here a few times now. Every time, we leave full and real happy. Each time we have had a different server and each time, THEY WERE GREAT! Kids and I were very happy with our food. It came out hot and quick... and tasted great."
"We were surprised by the very limited menu. We had Greek salad and chicken lemon rice soup. The salad was fresh and good and the soup, although a bit salty, very tasty. The restaurant was clean and staff efficient and friendly."
"This was the first time since 2019 (due to the Pandemic) that this group of Retirees from a GM Staff got together. The food is great and the atmosphere is fantastic for this gathering. The Coney dogs are good but the crispy chicken bacon salad is THE BEST. Ya gotta give it a try! The service was a little slow, with only one server to wait on 29 people but she did an admirable job under the circumstances. Everyone loved their food."
"We typically love National for the coneys and hanis, but I was really craving breakfast and got their french toast with strawberries. It was so good, amazing comfort food! But most of all I love the servers and their hospitality. You always feel welcomed and taken care of. It truly feels like a local joint where you feel at home."
