"Excessive fund raisers (trust me, I went to a catholic school growing up, so I know all about fundraisers). I appreciate supporting medical disease research funds, but not as much as Shawnee does. For example, there were daily fundraisers for two weeks in a row for lymphoma/leukemia. This was in the same month with an american heart association fundraiser. School is good quality education, no complaints there. Teacher was available, and instituted a helpful behavioral plan. Parking lot is dangerous - lots of SUV drivers anxious to get out, cutting each other off, sometimes getting dangerously close to students and parents. We were emailed a tutorial on parking lot etiquette for crying-out-loud, and problem behaviors continued. Adult crossing guards in parking lot are helpful and necessary. A police car with lights on may help those selfish escalade drivers follow the rules! The worst part of Shawnee is that I was told I couldn't use the bathroom for the student's sibling. She is four years old, and needs to use the bathroom. I talked to Chippewa valley school district, and they said it was within the principal's authority to make this determination. My child will not be returning."
