About the Business
Auburn Elementary School, located at 2900 Waukegan Street in Auburn Hills, Michigan, is a primary school serving grades K-5 within the Avondale School District. Our mission is to provide the highest level of education and maximize every student’s potential by developing positive social, emotional, intellectual, and physical skills. We aim to build a foundation for our students to become productive citizens and lifelong learners. At Auburn Elementary, students are encouraged to be confident, excited about learning, and motivated to do their best in a positive and challenging learning environment.
Our school day runs from 8:32 AM to 3:39 PM, with half-day dismissal at 11:45 AM and early release dismissal at 1:35 PM. Office hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We offer an engaging and relevant curriculum aligned with National and State Standards, supported by technology such as computer labs, Nook tablets, ELMO’s, and projectors. Our goal is to build a solid foundation in literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies through innovative teaching methodologies.
At Auburn Elementary, we introduce students to various career paths through activities such as the K-5 Job of the Week, "Careers in a Box" lessons, Career Booklets, Career Journal starters, STEMi visits, and district-wide Career Day events. We believe in preparing students for their future by teaching valuable life skills through Project Based Learning and Design Thinking.
We prioritize student success and believe in providing a high-quality education in an inclusive and encouraging environment.
