"I am actually kind of surprised to find so many good reviews. The place itself is beautiful, the service was great. The price and the food though, easily below average. We spent almost 200 all together so that gives an idea of the price. The “‘medium” steak was cooked for about 10 min too long, to where there was no pink in the middle. The shrimp appetizer was cold and bland. The dessert tasted like it was in a deep freezer for a year. The free bread was good at least. My husband and I got the point where we literally just had to laugh at it. The price simply doesn’t match the quality. Plenty of other places in South Bend that cost 1/2 of the price and are much better."
"This was a really great experience. The atmosphere was historical and cozy. The employees were extremely kind and out of their way helpful. The structure is well maintained and lovely. The icing on the cake was the food. Very well prepared and served fresh. We spent an hour r wandering the mansion after we ate and were welcomed to do so. They also have a nice craft beer available. I would visit again."
