Fifth Third Bank & ATM

"Our mortgage was sold to Fifth Third and has been nothing but problems since. They ruined my perfect credit with their incompetence and keep fighting me on removing the error - details below. My payments have always been automatic so I've never missed one. Last year, my payment amount increased by $10 because of an escrow change and the first month when it changed was short by that much. Keep in mind that is only 0.6% of the payment amount. Instead of applying my additional $10 payment, they mailed me a check for $1500, said "we didn't know how to apply this payment," and reported to the credit bureaus that I paid nothing, which is an absolute lie. I went into this branch when I received the check and handed it to them, so they applied it to my loan as they should have originally and assured me that my credit would be cleared. However, now it's a year later and I just found that my credit score is still 40 points lower because they never removed the missed payment from my report. I called to tell them this and now they outright refuse to make the correction. This is costing me opportunities and interest based on my damaged credit score. At this point I believe this is not a simple mistake, but an example of predatory banking practices."
