"My son ordered raft and paid for it in full (March 2023), 4-6 week lead time. 3 months after ordering the raft we still did not have it. At that point we asked for a refund and Ethan Smith agreed to it. 6 months later, we are still fighting with him to try and get our money back, he claims he does not have any money to give us. Period. Here is the whole time line of bad business 101. We do understand that you operate a small business but that is no excuse for treating a customer like you have treated us. I own and operate a small business also and I would not lead on a client and not follow through with an order. The raft was paid in full at the time of the order. On July 5, 2023 you responded to his email acknowledging and agreeing to a refund. Camdens email was very clear that he was canceling his order and wished to get a refund. Here we are 5 months later and still no return of money. Listed below is a time line of email communication. March 21, 2023, order placed, order #2364. 4-6 weeks delivery time April 24, 2023, you emailed Camden and told him “sorry for the delay and that you hoped to get it shipped out that week but you weren’t sure”. June 4, 2023, Camden inquired about the statue of the raft. June 5, 2023, Response from Ethan, “Sorry about the delay, we’ve had a hold up on some glue. But we are good now, hope to have you raft shipped this week if all goes well.” June 24, 2023, Camden emailed stating he was no longer interested in waiting for your company to produce the raft he ordered and requesting a refund. June 26, 2023, Response email from Ethan, “sorry the timing didn’t work out. I can get that Oder refund process started for you.” That he will get an order refund email from Shopify site tonight (6/26/23) or tomorrow (6/27/23) July 3, 2023, Camden emailed asking about the refund email, that he hadn’t received one yet. July 5, 2023, Response from Ethan “sorry i will check in with them and see what is going on” July 19,2023, Andrew Cron emailed Camden stating “ Great news! Your raft is on the way. We have shipped the inflatable directly from Colorado location to save some time. We are putting together the crate for the frame and accessories today and tomorrow. We should be sending it out on Friday. I will get you tracking info as soon as I have it.” July 20, 2023, Camden responded that he had requested a refund and was told he would receive an email with the refund into. He reached out several times and only received dismissive responses. November 4, 2023, Please refund our money by December 4, 2023. As stated in my previous email. A raft from your company is no longer an option. Please don’t drag this out any further, we want this resolved asap. December 4th deadline and come and passed. No refund. Edited 12-18-23 this is the first that we heard of you actually trying to shipping our raft. Through all our emails back a fourth it was never mentioned. I didn’t add any of the conversation you and my wife had because it was a phone conversation. Nothing in writing, so that conversation is all hear say."

"Edit**** (added to the review) I just want everyone to know my experience with smithfly. In the middle of august I purchased a little shoals raft, at this time the rafts were on a 4-6 week lead time. Within a week, I cancelled my order. Ethan emailed me saying he’s “not a bank” I cant just deposit money iand take it back when I please & the refund will take a little bit. He also said he already used my money and put it into materials. There was no cancellation policy saying you can’t cancel an order, nor that it will take months before you get your money back. But I said I understand and I’m sorry for the inconvenience. A couple weeks go by into the beginning of September and I asked him when he thinks I would get the refund, he said by the end of the month. End of the month rolls around and I get nothing, I ask him again when he thinks and he says he has some big sales days coming up and he should be able to do something then. End of october rolls around and nothing, I ask him again and now he says he hopes the Black Friday sale gets some sales so he can get me a refund. So it’s been almost 3 months and I have been given the run around twice, probably going to be a third time. This seems very unprofessional and I think it’s important for others to know about something like this.Ethan now will not respond to my emails that I or my lawyer have sent him. He has ghosted me and there is no signs of getting my money back. I now have to get a lawyer involved to get my money back, this is sad."

"Great quality product, great customer support. Both Ethan and Andy are good people. I've ran on the mad River, and Miami. Will be taking it to the Pere Marquette in the near future"

"Best raft ever. Everything about it was top notch materials, clean welds, it just looks nice..... BUT rows even better. Was nervous stepping away from my hard sided drift boat thinking I may not be able row with the same precision etc. Wrong, it handles great and so far is much tougher than I expected. Customer service was excellent for me, always got through on the phone and everything went as they said it would... no run around or anything. I paid a premium price but considering what you get, you're not touching really any other raft of this caliber for less."
