Northern Light Lodge

Northern Light Lodge, located at 119 West Wayne Street in Maumee, Ohio, has a rich history dating back to its origins as Freemason Lodge #24 in 1813 at Fort Meigs. After being discontinued following the war of 1812, a new lodge was petitioned and received a new charter in 1818. The current lodge still resides at the original location, serving as a proud Masonic community in Northwest Ohio.

Known as the "Mother Lodge" due to its influence on many other Masonic lodges in the region, Northern Light Lodge #40 merged with Calumet Lodge #612 in 1997 and Sanford L. Collins Lodge #396 in 1995. The institution is also home to Royal Arch Chapter, Grotto, Eastern Stars, and Cryptic Council.

The lodge's historic building, purchased from the Sons of Temperance in 1854, still houses many original furnishings and artifacts. Most Worshipful Brother Robert Rill Jr., a prominent member of the lodge, has served in various leadership roles within the Grand Lodge of Ohio.

All members and bodies meeting at the Maumee Masonic Building are welcome to attend events and meetings, including the annual Pancake Breakfast benefiting the Northwest Ohio Kidney Foundation. Stated meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of every month at 7:30 P.M. Join us at Northern Light Lodge for a sense of community and tradition in the heart of Maumee.
