"Been working with Ted Malensek at Mouldings 1 through my contractor. Doing a major remodel, so needed baseboard, casing, interior doors, exterior doors, cabinet pulls, door knobs, custom stair railing, etc. all of which I was going to get from Ted. He never responded to multiple emails and verbal requests for estimates, which I just let go. Then the bad part and why I am posting this review started. We wanted to get a double exterior entry door so sent Ted a picture of what we wanted. He came out twice to talk about options and ordering one. He never showed us pictures of the door just a computer image of some double door. We had discussed with him at length exactly what we were looking for so picked one based on his verbal description of the door and the fact that it was “in stock” and we could stain it. The door shows up and it is nothing like the door we thought we were getting plus it turns out only part of it can be stained. I immediately know we want to return it. I call Ted and it is nonreturnable. Doesn’t matter that it is his failings as a salesperson of why this door even showed up at my house. I say I’m willing to order a different door from them and pay to have this shipped back. Doesnt matter they are not taking it back. Now I am out $3900 for a door that I will not put on my house and Ted has lost his opportunity for the rest of my business. Hopefully you learn from my mistake and take your business somewhere else. ***update: Mouldings One ended up giving me a sizable credit towards the front door. Although they weren’t able to take the door back, they still did their best to make it right. We’re very happy with all of the other trim and doors we purchased and have even gotten an estimate for a new stair railing, which was very fairly priced, since the door issue. We will continue to do business with Mouldings One. Charged the star rating to reflect this update."

"Huge selection. Products in showroom are mostly poplar but they can make them in whatever species you'd like. The trim that they carry is definitely that hard to find type anywhere else. And if your doing a retrofit to match something older they will retool and reproduce the exact profile that you need. Very accommodating A++."
