"These guys are NOT great landscapers. They work hard and are honest, however they are better at cleaning brush, taking out rocks, killing weeds, blowing leaves, etc. I paid them about $15,000 to landscape (trees, shrubs, plants) the entire yard. The owner said that he could DESIGN the landscaping on a computer program, and would show me pictures of what it would look like. I never saw these images. I ended up designing most of it "as we went". I am retired and at home and found that they needed to be monitored as to where to place trees and shrubs. One tree, a big redbud with a 2-foot or more diameter ball, was planted in the front of the house with the crooked side showing from the front of the house's sight-line!! This is common sense not to do that! I made them dig it back up and rotate it 35 degrees to hide the crooked part from showing from the front. I think they found themselves over their head in the work required and started to half-a## the project, not completing parts of the job. Furthermore, I had them put white crushed rock on the side of the house, but they never put down a thick rubber barrier to suppress weeds from growing. After they put the rock down, I talked to my best friend who is a landscaper (far away) and he recommended putting down thick rubber EPDM barrier that works great for his own house with white crushed rock. Now I have weeds sprouting everywhere after 1 month! The owner's solution is to use weedkiller all the time. The neighbor told the owner he should put weed barriers down, but the owner refused. The owner of the business is totally against weed barriers. I didn't know, but now I have to take all of the white rock out and install a proper barrier. The owner thinks that weed killer would kill a yucca plant (from the previous house owner) that is in the back where he was planting. Yucca, a non-native invasive plant kills plants next to it by sucking water away and has rhizome roots similar to thistle. He never did his homework on how to deal with the yucca plant and now I have more yucca springing up in the middle of the newly landscaped area that I have to dig out myself! I still have a walkway to put in but they never came back to work on it. Oakwood Landscaping is doing that, and a MUCH better job with design and thinking through the process. If you need people to do the hard labor, pull out posts, clean up your yard, they are great. But not for landscaping. Nice guys, though."

"Needed a final, end of year leaf blowout....all the leaves I missed that were against my house, under the shrubs, in my window wells, etc. They also took the leaves off my property and didn't just leave them in the street. Very good, thorough job. They were prompt and professional and worked their butts off. I will use Stomps again."
