"The handyman, Oscar arrived right on time of our appointment. He was very friendly, courteous and did a great job with the work. Everything was cleaned up and no mess was left behind. Shad, the person I was in contact with at the office was also very friendly, easy to talk to, and very appreciative of my business. "My project: paint home exterior, siding repair, side garage door repair, deck repair, deck pressure wash/paint, exterior lighting replacement, and exterior outlet repairs. Many general contractors wouldn’t take on my project with either being booked or the small scale of the project. It was recommended to search for a local handyman company to take on the job. I hired Handyman Connection based on price and overall review rating but after my experience I will not be recommending Shad or his crew. Some of the handyman sent to my home had no direction of what needed to be completed. Craftsmanship was subpar and ultimately I paid them to go away and finish the punch-list and fix some of their work myself. I took this route as I figured I was still ahead compared to the other quotes I received and did not want to deal with another “handyman” showing up lost. The handyman sent responsible for pressure washing and painting my deck… huge headache and the work went on way too long (weeks) and he didn’t finish. Garbage and cigarette butts were left all around my deck. The handyman who was sent for swapping out my lighting and outlets had difficulty with one of the outlets and told me to have Shad bring an electrician out to troubleshoot since that was not his expertise. Luckily I spotted my refrigerator was out and he was able to pin point the issue and restore power to both the outlet and refrigerator. Some of the lights were not properly installed and are hanging from the mounting bracket. I will say the handymen that repaired my deck and painted my home exterior mostly good. I still have some of their work to fix. Invoices were sloppily put together. Some were literally copy and paste but reflected a new balance due. No details of material. When there was a breakdown in communication, scheduling, and the project became intolerable I scheduled an appointment with Shad. It resulted in a no call no show. I scheduled another appointment and the same thing almost happened but I was persistent. When Shad finally showed up 3 hours late, he was completely unprofessional as if I was inconveniencing him. Zero integrity and accountability. After that appointment I paid off what was left and gave notice to Shad I did not want them to return. I’ve had nearly $50k of remodeling projects completed in my home prior to hiring Shad and it was always a smooth experience unlike this. Lesson learned: You get what you pay for. I’d steer clear away from these franchise contractors unless it’s super small projects around the house."
