"Would not recommend. Unless you do not want questions, concerns, etc. answered. Was told that I would be called to go over issues multiple times. No calls. Asked a very specific question when doing state tax. (there was a negative number on my report that I knew was incorrect) I was told to put in the negative number (you can't!) the next reply was "Put in the exempt sales as a positive and see what happens." I'm not sure but seeing what happens sounds like a great way to be flagged and run into an audit. I asked if there was someone else I should talk to that would be able to help more, whether that was at Franz or another company. Also asked about the call that I never received. NO RESPONSE."

"Do not use for tax services -- hidden fees and awful customer service! After our taxes were completed last year, we received an invoice for an additional $40.(I had already paid $300.) I called this year before sending in our tax prep documents and asked what the fee would be. I stated over and over that I did not want any surprises. After speaking with Dan who prepares our taxes, Debra in billing, and finally with Timothy Franz, no one would give me an estimate. (They have been doing our taxes for 5 plus years and are familiar with our needs.) I questioned the additional invoice I received last year and Tim assured both me and my husband (who also placed a call when I couldn't get an answer) that our taxes would increase no more than 3 to 5%. I sent in our paperwork with our standard $300 payment. Our taxes were completed and filed and a few weeks later, we received a bill for $199 more for a total of $499 and a 66% increase! I feel like we couldn't have been more clear when stating our desire for no surprises and the 66% increase is way above the 3-5% increase we were promised. My husband called to question the $199 invoice and to restate that we were told a 3-5% increase. Mr. Franz was unapologetic and his customer service is terrible."
