"My experience with CSH has been horrendous. They charge unbelievably high fees for careless work. I’ve had to correct multiple mistakes in the work I pay them to do that’s supposed to make my life easier. They are argumentative and don’t disclose their fees when you first become a client. They will bill you at random whenever someone remembers they have anything they can potentially try to bill for. I thought that a large name like this would have it together but disappointingly that’s not the case. Save yourself the trouble and go anywhere else. Listen to my review and read the others who warn you that they’re awful."

"Clark Schaefer Hackett did something rotten and I'm happy to report it so that others know what kind of firm this is. I was a loyal customer for nearly 20 years. I very much value long-term working relationships and considered this my accounting firm. I thought they valued me too. I was wrong. For years I worked with two CPAs at the firm, including one of the founders. I had them do tax returns for three members of my family. I paid about $800 a year, on average, to have multiple forms for each family member filed. I was happy with the way things were prepared and went back year after year because I was satisfied. But ... This week I received a letter explaining that they have a new fee structure. They won't accept clients whose fees fall under the $1,000 threshold. So the letter was saying that they were dumping me as a client unless I would agree to their minimum fee, regardless of how many forms my returns would require. If this is indeed their new rule I would imagine many long-time clients have been kicked to the curb under this new structure. I am very hurt and disgusted that this company chose to abruptly sever our working relationship. I do not want to pay some arbitrary fee for my taxes. I want to pay for the amount of work I am actually having done. Don't you? It hurts me very much and I am certain I am not alone in feeling like this. This company did not value my business. For this reason I am only awarding one star, despite our long-term relationship. I don't know when in my life I have been so disgusted by a thoughtless corporate decision. I suggest that if you are looking for an accounting firm you avoid this one."
