"Allison Springer was given to me as a public defender out of Wells county on a criminal matter that I had. And as we all know how the system works when it comes to public defenders. I felt like she had way too many cases on her plate that I wasn't given adequate representationin the areas of I didn't feel as though she wanted to get to know her client and that she came up with the any good defense and I chalked it up to the game of that's just how it works. Why I rated them as a 1 is based on is the fact that I have a child custody case that I am needing help with because I have a problem with keeping my mouth shut and I could go to jail so I need an attorney right and so as a last-ditch effort I called her office and just ask them you know if they're available to have the ability to take on new clients they are on it's $185 for one hour of consultation and then they might not even take your case. I contacted both the Portland and Bluffton office and I was told the same thing buy both receptionist that they have to schedule an appointment and they need $185 and after that consultation if they decide to take your case that they need $2,000 at least and then need it all up front no I'm not saying they don't have a right to earn a living because they sure did go to school for that however I feel like you know they're alienating a whole population based upon that we are being told well that's the way our office works I felt rushed I felt blown off Im so desperate that I had to call them and I was pretty much begging and it was closed and shut case it was very cookie cutter and what I would like an attorney to understand from a client's point of view is sometime we do need adequate representation and sometimes people don't have the ability to pay $185 for one hour and then at that point you still don't know if you're going to take my case I can walk out of there and you tell me no I can't help you and there's two almost two hundred bucks that I've done wasted on being able to put that money towards an attorney that will help me thing is with all their advertisements I expected better I'm not asking for a handout at all I don't need a handout what I do need is I need a little bit of a break and I guess that's just not the kind of company that they are they say that they're faith-based and I don't believe that money should be a main motivation of your office so if you're rich and you have tons of money to blow by all means they might represent you very very well however I did not have a very good experience and I'm really sorry that I called to even ask in the first place"
