H&R Block

"i am highly upset, i come here and pay crazy amounts in fees mainly for the emerald refund advance my preparer made it seem like i was approved (i usually am) when i was not, he also asked me if i wanted my fees taken out of my federal and said yes i was informed they will be taking it out of my state. i have seen no update on my irs transcript for 2 weeks it says "return not filed" but h&r says they accepted my return the same day i filed. all around i am diassapointed this year with the block."

"Update: I did get a hold of someone in the IRS office again and she advised that if the .gov website still states in process, that I should just be patient as they are welll and far behind. Additionally because of my husbands passing it will take longer. That if there was anything wrong they would have notied the preparer and updated the site well before this point. This is the same thing that Chris in the Cold Spring Ky H&R block office told me about 3.5 months after I filed. At least he called back. Kudos to you Chris! This is horrible. My husband passed this year. I filed electronically in early March and H&R block would not help find out why my taxes was not back. I finally got a hold of the IRS myself in August. They said that they need to be resubmitted for missing documents. I cannot get a response from H&R block after calling three offices in two weeks near me. After paying over $200"

"I'm not sure if anyone reads these, but Chris (Cold springs KY) was amazing. However, he was fixing a problem created by my "tax pro" Jan Larson that I paid $70 for. I will never be using the tax pro service again. Jan did not respond to my MANY messages and calls and had my taxes locked so I couldn't file them. My only solution provided by your tech department was to go into an office and have them fix it. Chris was amazing but I had to basically pay for him to just do my taxes, to fix a problem H&R block created in the first place. I not only wasted the $70 on Jan's so called service, but had to pay $165 on top of that to actually get access and get my taxes filed. I want to be clear that none of this is a reflection on Chris and his team. I will gladly go back to him next year if I have issues doing my own taxes again."
