Throughout the appointment, Mr. Fontanez seemed more interested in his phone than in providing quality service. His constant texting and phone calls not only disrupted the flow of our session but also made me feel like an afterthought. It was evident that he was not fully focused on my needs as a client, which was disappointing and unprofessional."

"My wife had color and highlights done by Edwin of Cielo By Edwin Fontanez in the fall of 2022. She came to him with uncolored medium brown hair with some gray. She presented several photographs of herself to show her goal to follow her base color with added light brown highlights for dimension. While washing the color products out of her hair, Mr. Fontanez stated that the “color pulled too red and he needed to put on a toner” to compensate. This did not work and still left a red / brassy tone to her resultant hair color. She found it strange that the entire time Mr. Fontanez was drying her hair he kept her chair turned away from the mirror so that she could not see the results until briefly when he was finished. He was also very rough with the blow dry, pulling her hair so hard that she had to stop him. She paid her bill and went to the restroom before leaving only to see her hair was red / brassy. She asked Mr. Fontanez directly, “don’t you think this is too red?” His response was the lighting in the bathroom made it look that way which implied he saw the red / brassy color too. The next day she placed a call to voice her displeasure and request a refund. Mr. Fontanez refused any refund but instead offered to correct the color. My wife chose to go to another salon to correct the color because she had no confidence in his ability to correct the color when he could not get it right the first time. Repeated attempts to obtain a refund were unsuccessful with Mr. Fontanez saying he was “owed the money” regardless of the result because "he spent the time". He did not care at all about the trauma he caused but instead was more concerned about retaining payment for terrible results. Needless to say, my wife will never return to Edwin Fontanez."
