About the Business

Wellington Reservation is a 541-acre park located at 535 Jones Road in Wellington, Ohio, United States. Established in 2005 through a collaboration between the Lorain County Metro Parks and the Village of Wellington, this park offers a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, fishing, boating, and wildlife observation. The park features a beautiful Visitor’s Center overlooking the 21-plus-acre lake created by the Wellington South Reservoir.

With over 4 miles of trails winding through grassland fields, wetland habitats, and around the South Reservoir, visitors can enjoy different perspectives of the park's diverse landscapes. The trail system includes surfaces of asphalt and crushed stone, making it accessible for various activities and skill levels.

The development of Wellington Reservation was made possible through a partnership between the Lorain County Metro Parks, the Village of Wellington, and governmental funding for wetland mitigation projects. This collaboration has allowed for increased access to the park for the local community, the creation of a trail system for multiple recreational uses, and the construction of a visitor center for the enjoyment of all park visitors.

Whether you're looking to explore nature, relax by the lake, or engage in outdoor activities, Wellington Reservation offers a serene and picturesque setting for visitors of all ages to enjoy.

"Honestly don’t know where to begin… first of all, the older guy working there (didn’t get his name) wasn’t super friendly. He sort of yelled at me when I got there because I accidentally made my reservation for the wrong day. Their website crashed on me at least 12 times and wasn’t easy to navigate. I also followed the directions on the receipt which weren’t correct so I was 30 minutes late. I asked the older worker if we could have some extra time and he was really sassy. He made me feel stupid for accidentally making my reservation for the wrong day so I explained to him the problems I faced and he didn’t seem to care. The younger guy working there was super friendly and thought it was kind of funny so he still let us go out in the water. The older guy working redeemed himself a little (not much though) while trying to get my friend and I back on the dock. He was joking around with us and was just in an overall better mood. Can’t say that I’d go back but if you need a nice, quiet place to kayak it wasn’t bad. Very disappointed in my experience overall."

"Always a beautiful place to go for a walk. The path is always clean and well maintanied. I have rented the hall before for a birthday party. Was a very nice place with an amazing view. You are also able to rent kayaks during the summer to get out on the water."

"We and our kids spent the afternoon at the reservoir. Such a great time, free paddle boating, jungle gym, walking path, rec building with air conditioning! So family friendly! Great, great time (:"
