"Inspiring natural escape tucked neatly into southwest Ohio. We hiked east from the parking lot on the north side of the gorge and crossed the bridge and came back the other side. It was a lovely, sunny winter afternoon and the light filtering through the naked trees and reflecting off the river and snow was refreshing. Trail was clean. Some parts off the beaten path more challenging, but worth it. Easy to moderate overall. Some mud with recent snow melt. Love this place! We plan on going once a month this year since it's close enough to home in Dayton."

"I came here a few years ago and I wasn't overly impressed with it. However, in the snow it is much more enjoyable. I think the snow 100% enhances this state park. There aren't a lot of trails here, so you won't spend an entire day here by any stretch of the imagination and the main trails cover the same territory, just on opposite sides of the river bank. If you come here, make sure you make your way to the views of the Gorge and Clifton Gorge Nature Preserve, that's the real highlight in the area."

"I had an amazing time here with my family. This is one of my favorite places to go now. It's the closest thing I can get to Asheville NC, ever since I moved. I visit this area whenever I'm missing the mountains. It's a great place for hiking, and having birthday parties/family gatherings. I also sense a lot of our Native American Ancestors' presence here, so it feels extra special to me."

"One of the best state parks in Ohio. There are a bunch of trails. Everything from very easily navigable to a few moderately challenging spots. The views can't be beat and out connects to Clifton Gorge Park. I could spend days wandering through John Bryan and still not see everything it has to offer"

"We had a great time while visiting John Bryan State Park. The park is located just East of Yellow Springs, Ohio which is a great little town to visit as well. We stayed in the campgrounds and hiked numerous trails. The campgrounds were nice and well kept and offer great accommodations. We enjoyed hiking the Stagecoach Trail, South Gorge Trail, and the Ridge trail which were all beautiful and offered scenic views of the Clifton Gorge, Little Miami River and some awesome Rock Formations. The park also has a storybook trail and playground for the youngsters, picnic shelters and bike trail. A great place to spend a weekend or afternoon exploring nature."
