Haver Ridge Metro Park, located at 8335 Bellefontaine Road in Harrod, Ohio, is a unique park with rolling hills formed by glaciers during the last ice age. Purchased and developed through a Clean Ohio Greenspace Conservation Fund grant, this park has a rich history dating back to 1876 when it was maintained as a working farm by the Metzger/Lowry family. In 2019, the Park District acquired the property and named it in honor of long-time Park Director, Kevin Haver, who dedicated forty-two years of his life to public service in Allen County. The park is a haven for wildlife and offers a peaceful and quiet retreat for visitors to enjoy. Shelter reservations can be made by calling 419-221-1232 or registering online. "Disappointed dogs are not allowed . So many parks limit dogs even though they spread inaction & psychological comfort. Park board need to expand pet's acceptance as long as pet owners clean up after their pets. Schoonover park has plenty of goose mines to avoid. Long time Dog Lover !"

"Newer park we visited today. Nice new parking lot with ample parking. Nice walking trails with a mixture of prairie, wetland and forest. Very informative plaques throughout the park which explain the various wild and plantlife. Plenty of benches and places to rest. Cannot wait to go in spring and autumn to enjoy the various native wildflowers and migrating water fowl. Highly recommend this park for all ages due to the easiness of the trail system and informative signage."
