Rudy's Hot Dog

"Bunch of kids run it in the evening. Poor customer service. My 2 hot dogs were ready and sitting on the counter. I had to wait for the girl to finish making milkshakes for the car behind me, and her conversation with a co-worker, before they were given to me....cold. unsanitary...they are trying clean while serving food. Dirty food containers all over. Can't wait for Netty's to open."

"They have some of the best all beef hot dogs. They offer daily combo specials that help cut the cost. They have a family-friendly kids' choice of food and drinks as well as some adult drinks. They have a breakfast menu that is available all day long. The dine in experience is great, give the old school house feel with grab a tray, oder what you want, pay and set with friends and eat. Never a rush to get out, the dining area was kept clean, and tables were wiped down. Staff was friendly, and everybody had a great sense of humor."

"What can I say? This place has been doing coney dogs and good food since 1927. Brings back lots of good memories there used to be one in Port Clinton when I was a kid and several in Fremont, Ohio thstbare now all closed. The French fries are some of the best I've ever had, and although the decor is outdated, it brings back childhood memories. Very clean and very good food. I always try to stop in here when i'm up this way, highly recommended."

"Full disclosure: I’ve never had a hot dog from this establishment. However, their soup is some of the best I’ve ever had! Especially the vegetable soup. You wouldn’t think a hot dog shop could deliver such an amazing soup but they CAN! You actually can see veggies and it tastes homemade (not from a bag like some other places). You can’t beat the price either! Seriously! If you like soup Rudy’s is THE place to go."

I was surprised and happy when they responded to my review. I cannot wait to go to Rudy’s the next time I go to Toledo! I am raising my rating because I love Rudy’s…. and I know it will be better the next time I eat there. Thank you! —————————————————————- Original Review: I was in town for the weekend. 47 years ago, I moved from Toledo. Ever time I came back, I stopped and ate at Rudy's. I love Rudy's! BUT this time was different. To begin with the Rudy's that I remember is gone. We went to the Rudy's on Monroe. The service was great.. but the food was not the same. The buns were too big (too much bread) and not steamed. The chili did not taste the same... And there was no atmosphere. Hopefully they change it to make it more like the original Rudy's... because I love Rudy's!!!"
