Arts Place brings performing artists, as well as two- and three-dimensional artists, from around the world. It inspires, educates, and celebrates the arts for a fairly wide radius and brings in visitors from well beyond that radius. It also hosts theatrical productions from three local theatrical groups. Arts Place is a treasure that improves the quality of life in and around Portland, Indiana, and Jay County."

"One of the best things Portland has to offer. There is not much to see or do in Portland, but Arts Place offers tons of classes and performances, all of which are reasonably priced. Gallery openings are fun to attend, and not a pretentious event. The rotating exhibits are varied and interesting. We go here about once a month."
