About the Business

The Glass Pavilion, located at 2444 Monroe Street in Toledo, Ohio, is a museum and tourist attraction that continues the Toledo Museum of Art’s legacy as a home for artists who create with glass. The Glass Studio within the Pavilion serves as a space for local glass artists, offers demonstrations for visitors, provides Master Classes in glass making, and hosts the GAPP Residency program.

Since its opening in 2006, the Glass Pavilion has combined its role as the home of a world-class glass collection with a working glass studio rooted in Toledo's history. The Studio Glass Movement, which began in Toledo in 1962, has a significant influence on the contemporary glass community.

The Glass Studio at the Glass Pavilion offers rental opportunities for artists to work independently in the Hot Shop, Cold Shop, Flameworking area, and Casting area. The institution also offers classes and workshops for artists of all skill levels, including scholarships for eligible participants.

Visitors to the Glass Pavilion can witness public glass blowing demonstrations and explore the ancient art of glass making. The institution's connection to influential glass artists and its dedication to preserving the art form make it a must-visit destination for art enthusiasts and tourists in Toledo.

"Very nice experience! It was not crowded when we visited. Admission is free, there is a parking fee, which is waived if military. Got to see how glass bowls are made from start to end. The person leading the session was detailed and explained what each step does. There are also glass blowing classes you can take here as well as a small gift shop where you can buy some of the work that was made during the classes/sessions. After seeing how glass is blown we walked around the entire Pavilion and saw mesmerizing glass art and historical pieces. Interesting place. Would definitely recommend seeing at least once."

"Amazing collection of glass art objects, both recent and ancient. Free admission, but $10 charge for parking. Near downtown. We spent an hour, but could have spent a lot longer."
