About the Business

Pokagon State Park Toboggan Run

Pokagon State Park Toboggan Run, located in Angola, Indiana, is a thrilling attraction that draws in about 90,000 riders every season. With a 30-foot tower and dips and valleys along the quarter-mile course, riders experience a total vertical drop of 90 feet, reaching speeds of up to 42 mph for a 20-30 second adrenaline rush.

The Toboggan Run is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with extended hours during winter break and holidays such as New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and Presidents Day. The run is located near the Potawatomi Inn Resort and Conference Center, which offers accommodations, dining, and event spaces.

Originally built in 1935 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, the toboggan run has undergone renovations over the years, including the addition of refrigeration in 1971 and a new 30-foot tower and track in 1974. Visitors can also rent skis, boots, poles, and snowshoes at the Warming Center during the same hours as the toboggan run.

Whether you're seeking a thrilling winter adventure or simply looking to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Pokagon State Park, the Toboggan Run is a must-visit attraction for all ages.

"Great fun! Refrigerated tracks maintain an icy run (even better on a weighted toboggan). It's a bit of a hike up the paved trail to the top. Beautiful setting."

"Traveling 2.5 hours for the toboggan run was initially a concern, but it turned out to be the most enjoyable family experience! Our 7 and 9-year-olds had a blast, and the effort was absolutely worth it. Highly recommend for anyone on the fence – give it a try!"

"So much fun! Two different toboggan weight options. We paid $20 for an hour and we're able to get in 4 runs since it wasn't busy. Make sure you have gloves as they are required but it isn't mentioned until you get to the top."
