About the Business

Toledo Museum Of Science

The Toledo Museum of Science, located on Shadowlawn Drive in Toledo, Ohio, is a fascinating museum that offers a variety of exhibits and activities for visitors of all ages. Please note that there are early building closures on certain dates in April, so plan your visit accordingly. The museum is also home to the Arctic Encounter, Tembo Trail, and an Aquarium, which have specific closing times.

When visiting the museum, you can park at either the Anthony Wayne Trail parking lot or the Broadway parking lot. Please be aware that the Toledo Zoo has transitioned to a cashless payment system, accepting major credit cards, debit cards, and mobile payment options. Outside food, beverages, and coolers are not permitted inside the zoo, with exceptions for medical items, dietary restrictions, baby formula, and pre-registered school groups.

Upcoming events at the museum include a celebration for the newest member of the herd, a day of activities for the path of totality, and a wine tasting event. Visitors can also learn about the zoo's conservation efforts and ways to get involved in making a difference.

The museum features a wide range of exhibits on birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, arthropods, fish, and sea life. There are also tours, camps, family offerings, homeschool programs, scout programs, and virtual and outreach opportunities available for visitors. Additionally, there are interactive experiences, gardens, concerts, and concessions to enjoy during your visit.

Don't miss the chance to explore the museum's efforts in global conservation, birding, and efforts to protect species like turtles, lake sturgeon, hellbenders, and butterflies. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a science lover, or simply looking for a fun day out, the Toledo Museum of Science has something for everyone.

"I really enjoyed this place. it gave me a feeling like I was at Hogwarts. (Just my personal feeling) I like how they had exhibits you can interact with and see where the employees work at in the basement. It's free to go in however, of course you have to pay the zoo entrance fee."

"Really beautiful building and exhibits. This building is much less busy than the rest of the Zoo, even during a weekend, so there's room to look at all the exhibits. The displays and exhibits are all beautifully done and the building is very clean. There is a variety of things to look at, ranging from taxidermied animals, sculpted animals, real-life animals and insect exhibits, and animal mounts and bones. Everything is very clearly well maintained. If you want to take your time, I would reserve about 1.5-2.5 hours for this building depending on if you stop to read the plaques and how long you spend at each exhibit. This building is more mobility-aid friendly than other zoo buildings. There is an elevator as well as private accessible bathrooms."
