The Old Bag of Nails Pub - Toledo

"So….my husband and I went here last night for dinner. We have been here many times and usually love the food. However, this last time I think ruined it in all. We went and ordered our dinner. I had ordered a Gaylord Burger (that comes with bacon and there was no bacon on it which I didn’t even say anything about that) and French onion soup instead of fries with it. I got the soup first, finished it. The waitress then came out and delivered the rest of our food. I took one bite out of my burger and looked down and noticed there was a BUG on my lettuce. A DEAD BUG!!!! I didn’t even flag down the first person, I waited until our waitress herself came back. I politely told her there was a bug on my burger (I’m a very nice person and know mistakes happen). She looked at it and said “oh, I’ll go show my manager.” She came back about 5-7 minutes later asked “do you want us to remake it for you?” I responded with a no thank you. She then came back with our bill. That was it…no manager came out to talk to us, no apology from the waitress(nor did she seem shocked or grossed out), no apology from anyone from the establishment. On our bill they removed the price of the burger. The upsetting part was that there was no apology from the waitress and/or the manager. The manager never even came out to speak to us or apologize. Nothing at all from anyone. It was very cut and dry, do you need a box for the rest of your meal and here’s the bill. We were very sad and upset because we used to really like that place and their food. But at this point we can never go back. No only is their kitchen and food not clean but their service and managers are just not good and accommodating. The customer service is seriously lacking, you would expect a little something when coming in after a long week of work and want to relax and enjoy good food, none of which we got."

"This place is a hidden gem. I thought they only had fried fish (which I eat very seldom). I ordered the mussels and shrimp. Oh my gosh it is to die for. Now it’s a little spicy but it’s heavenly. The fish is good and the fried mushrooms were delicious. We went on a Friday night so of course it was very busy."

"Loved our bartender/waitress! Food was really good. We were there on a Sunday, and they were out of a few menu items. Several other yummy dishes to choose from. The outdoor patio is really cute. This sits right beside the new Metropark, which makes it a great place to grab a bite while you enjoy the park."

"Let’s preface the review with that we got delivery and everything was quite good. There are some caveats. $2 upcharge for a bag of kettle brand kettle chips is INSANE. The potato cakes are nothing more than frozen mini hash browns. Again, they taste good (think McD’s hash browns) but a $2 upcharge… NUTS The quesadilla was fairly meh/generic but if fried food isn’t your thing and you like “southwest” flavors, it’s fine."

"When first arriving, didn't really know where to go. Host said the wait time was 15-20 minutes,stood against the hot sunny windows to wait because no where to sit. Should have more than 2 little chairs to wait. Plenty of room to stand and watch everyone else eating. Otherwise, food was really good. Great fish dinner. Lack of communication between employees, had to ask twice for honey mustard, and didn't receive salsa for quesadillas. Had no silverware on the table. Of course, I went at dinner hour, not to blame the waitress, however seemed rushed. Fish is the best ever. I highly recommend the pretzel and fish and chips. We had appetizers, and dinners."
