Kohl's

"I understand that theft is a problem in the retail industry. But Kohl's go way above and beyond in the "make people very uncomfortable" department. I literally was trying on shoes when a guy comes up next to me with a frying pan in one hand and a pillow in the other and just stares at me as if I'm going to steal these shoes or something."

"It has been a long time since I have been in a kohls store and I was surprised how clean and well staffed compared to other stores. I wish they carried my sizes in shoes and clothing though. I can always dream that one day I can buy something off the rack!"

"I had went to a different kohls a few days ago before the Sephora beauty insider event started. The store manager and Sephora manger told me I could come back for a price adjustment and I could do it at any store. I decided to come here, because I also wanted to come to dillards outlet. Mistake!!! I walked into the Sephora for help, and the 3 girls took less than a minute to say they didn’t know how to do it and go to customer service. I did, and a very nice girl helped me. She then called the store manager, Patrick, to do the discount. He then treated me as a dumb female, and proceeded to talk down to me with insinuation and condescension. He told me he knew the store manager for “years” him and the male manager were good friends.. odd because the other kohls manager has been there a year and is a female? Then proceeded to tell me that they couldn’t do it, and treated me as a liar and that the manager he knew, that doesn’t even work there anymore, would never give me the discount. If only I had the brains of a man :( well, after the man told me to take it elsewhere and “good luck”, I went back to the other kohls and they did the adjustment with NO ISSUE!!! And they were lovely while doing it. Heads up, it’s 2023, treat Your customers with compassion and try to be understanding, it’ll go along way. If you’re not comfortable with the return, there’s a way to relay the message without insinuating or rudeness. (Also, there’s no need to be so stingy about 20% off a massive corporation in this economy). As one retail worker to another, be nice."

"The primary purpose for this visit was to pick up an online order. It was ready in a timely manner and after pucking it up I decided to puruse the store for a few other items. When checking out 2 associates were chatting and didn't acknowledge me but continued their conversation. I understand it's a very slow, quiet evening, but it's still nice to pause and greet your customer. No interaction was made with me, not even a thank you. I would have liked to put this purchase on my Kohl's charge and take advantage of 30% discount, but this would have involved looking up my card (since I didn't have it with me). This was really the only interaction I had this evening and it wasn't very professional."
