Plato's Closet

"I usually love Plato’s closet but recently the last two times I have been there I’m spending minimum of $50 or more and I always seem to come home with items that are stained on the inside with makeup or black stains on the sleeves. I already took the tags off before I noticed this. And it’s extremely disappointing. I wish you guys would take more time to inspect the items before you accept them. Even Goodwill doesn’t sell stained items. Please inspect your items more properly. Thank you. I paid $14 for the picture below that has big black stains on the sleeves."

"As someone who is plus size, I am usually impressed when I see stores have a plus size section. Their selection is smaller but figured that was because it gets bought up so quickly. Today I went in to sell for the first time and was extremely disappointed. I brought in 2 large bags of clothing and even though they were extremely busy It took them like 10 minutes to get back with me on what they wanted, Which to my surprise was just my pair of doc's. I had a lot of Torrid, some Layne Bryant, and some Shein. I had sweaters, leggings, jeans, dresses, blouses, even a pink leather jacket. I figured there were going to be some things they didn't want like t shirts or bathing suits but not all of it! It's just very discouraging to see that they don't even care if my demographic is represented in thier stores. They will definitely be a last resort for my family from now on."

"More like platos roof top, these guys take you up top and throw ya off. Walk in with a life savings in clothing and walk out with $12.42. May as donate the clothes at that rate."

"I’ve normally had good experiences with this Plato’s and recommended it to my boyfriend and friends. So him and I decided to drive all the way out to this specific location to sell clothes and shoes that weren’t even a year old just because of these good experiences. They wanted to give $10 for two pairs of Nike shoes? $1 for a new north face jacket… then the bucket of clothes looked like they hadn’t been touched at all, still folded up the same way we had them when we brought them in. It just upset me because this exact same thing happened to me at another location and the manager had to reach out and apologize after looking at the cameras and seeing the employees did not in fact look at anything I had brought. So I would be really sad if that happened yet again but this time at another location. We bring items there with the impression that everything will at least be looked at rather than just ignored as if our time coming out there isn’t valuable and that our items aren’t even good enough to scan. We had folded everything nicely and everything was clean just to make things easier for everyone. Again I hope this wasn’t the case but it truly looked like nothing but what was on the very top was even touched. It’s just a little disrespectful to the customers that come there. The employees were very sweet but it still stinks that our items were just sat to the side as if we wouldn’t notice"

"I went in there for the first time today and it was quite busy. Perhaps because they were having a 70% off sale, There were racks and racks and racks of clothes with shoes piled on the tops of all the racks. There were large bins of clothes outside the store. For me, it was literally overwhelming. I left without purchasing anything. I did see some high-end brands in there and I think if you’re into bargain-hunting, you can find some great deals on some nice clothes. My niece goes there frequently and has gotten some fabulous deals on clothes, shoes, and boots."
