A few guitars ended up on my shortlist after my research, and the Sam Ash near me happened to have a used model of one of them in stock. That, and the fact that Sam Ash is still family owned, drove my decision to check them out vs Guitar Center. I feel very fortunate that I did, because not only was that guitar to my liking, but my salesperson Steven was incredibly helpful. I never felt spoken down to. He met my naive questions with excellent, clear answers and clarifying questions that helped me arrive at the right gear AND gave me a little education. He also helped me make my dollars go further; I assembled an entire electric guitar rig from their excellent used inventory. I have a few consuming hobbies and passions and as such I am accustomed to what can sometimes be an elitist mentality in specialty retail. I got none of that from my business with Sam Ash, and will definitely return to them. And Steven rocks."

I came back 2 different times and she stopped what she was doing and walked around the department discussing the different amplifier brands.
