"UPDATE: My original post was nothing but praise for this establishment. Unfortunately after new administration took over, what a change…..my observations went from a five star to a one star. Please beware and make sure you check on your love ones frequently if placed here. Be an advocate for you love one. We recently needed to place both parents into a nursing home. After visiting many homes in the area, someone suggested Austinburg. What an answer to prayer! The people are caring and supportive of their patients. The facility is clean and bright. Everyone has been such a tremendous help during this transition. Both parents are happy and thriving. I can not thank the workers at Austinburg enough. Finally, my mind is at ease."

"My father did a rehab stint here for a bit before his passing. After his passing I was sued along with my mother for over 3K. Turns out I signed something I should not have. I was basically told I was signing something that makes sure my dad pays them if needed, but that it would not be necessary because he has x amount of days covered by medicare. So I signed the paper and dad was able to remain. Turns out due to the incompetence of these people they made a mistake on the amount of days he had available and ended up back charging him over 3K. I understand financial liability, and the reason you would sue my dads surviving spouse obviously. But I also understand Lies, deceit and dis honesty also, and those 3 things describe Austinburg rehab to a T. My father had a few other stays in various facilities in the area. The 2 he owed money to forgave the debt after learning of his passing. To me that is compassion and a stand up facility who truly cares. I have emailed the corporate owner of this facility to no avail. As far as the care provided that also left a lot to be desired, as the place smelled like urine constantly, appeared to be under staffed constantly, and my fathers needs just were not being met. I only met a few capable and compassionate nurses in this facility and for them I am thankful. But as far as your office staff, I dont know if it was Lisa or Jackie, you people should be ashamed of yourselves. If I am able to reason with these folks at all or corporate is able to return my emails, and something can be worked out, I will consider revising this review. Untill then Avoid this shady place at costs, find a better place for your loved ones."

"This facility provided excellent care to my Uncle in his final days and I would highly recommend them. We had the worst time finding a place for him to go as he lived out of state. Most places we called didn't show any empathy for our situation and didn't seem able or willing to help him get in. That all changed when we called Austinburg Nursing. I spoke with Lillian Sharp (Administrator) on the phone and from that minute knew that she was going to make this happen and she did. From her to everyone we dealt with during his stay, both he and many visiting family members received outstanding service. They were so helpful and really bent over backwards to help get him into the facility and make his final days the best they could be. I am truly baffled after reading some negative reviews online about this facility because this was not our experience at all. Staff members went way above and beyond what was expected. When he suffered a medical event, staff members showed up in the ER to check on him and my family. And when he finally passed, they came to his funeral. In his final days, they repeatedly checked in on our family and made him as comfortable as possible. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! Thank you again Lillian and staff!!"

"We first met those in the Therapy Department back in 2015 when my husband, Vincent, had a knee replacement. It was my turn in 2016, and then also having weekly home care visits with Janet, from the same department. I am here again, after more surgery, now in 2017. When you find personnel that you like, it makes it easier to return to get help. We appreciate the knowledge that they have to help each individual. We also like the "personal touch", the attention, the caring, the patience, the getting-to-know you time, because you are important as a person. We even like the kidding and the joking, it helps to be able to smile and laugh, even when you are not feeling well. We have been, and are, very happy with the Therapy Department Personnel. -Olympia Marie DiLemme"

"My sister stayed her after her stroke, not only did she fall a number of times since the nurses and aids do not answer the call lights! But they forgot to order her pain meds and her medications needed for her M.S. and her antibiotics!! She was out for days!! This is a horrible facility!! I would see call lights on for over 20 min with no one paying any attention to them... We all took turns staying with her so we could make sure she was being cared for!! This is a place you take someone you do not care about so they can be abused and forgotten! Do not put your loved ones in this horrible facility!"
